Pearl of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is about to become a leader in energy efficiency initiatives.
The National Energy Efficiency Program of the island, namely, aims to reduce consumption of energy intensive sectors and, therefore, to decrease dependence on imports. It provides financial and technical framework for energy audits of private sector enterprises. In that context, our team of experts was invited to realize a study evaluating implemented actions, actualizing energy efficiency potentials and proposing relevant strategies. Supported by the French Agency for Development and the Business Mauritius, we had an opportunity to exchange opinions with numerous actors from public and private sectors. Possibility to be there allowed us to understand issues encountered by stakeholders which was of the utmost importance for prescriptions of further actions.
