We are pleased to announce that the studies on energy efficiency potential in three Indian Ocean countries (Madagascar, Comoros and Mauritius) have been launched.

Supported by the @IndienOceanCommission and @BusinessMauritius, the EXENCI team in collaboration with its local partner @COTELMalagasy, went at first to Madagascar last month where the project targets the big consumers of the private sector. This country, where the natural resources are abundant, has an immense potential for energy savings and development of renewable energies, which could considerably reduce its heavy dependence on imports supporting its economic development.

Then we moved to Mauritius to assess the energy efficiency potential of small and medium-sized consumers, as well as to identify barriers for adopting energy saving measures. It is about a study which is complementary to that previously carried out regarding large consumers as part of the National Energy Efficiency Program.

And last but not least, the next mission will take place in the Comoros where our objective is once again “the big consumers” of the private sector. Let’s give it a go!
